At Pinky & Kamal, we’ve always believed that the magic lies in the little things, the tiny, joyful details that remind us why we do what we do. And while designing new collections, launches, installations is a huge part of our world, it’s often the small, spontaneous moments behind the scenes that really light us up and bring us closer together as a team.

One of my favourite parts of our process is how we find playful ways to be creative beyond the pieces themselves. Sometimes it looks like collating mood boards, other times it’s a messy experiment with how we can creatively and limitlessly style the pieces, and more often than not, it’s the joy of making our own shoot accessories. These little side projects aren’t just about saving time or money, they’re about creating something with our own hands that feels deeply personal to us and our brand.

Our beloved beaded belts and necklaces are a perfect example.

It all started as a tiny idea, we were planning a shoot and wanted something that felt unique, an accessory that wasn’t just an afterthought but something that could tie together an outfit and add a spark of playfulness. Instead of scouring shops for the perfect pieces, we sat down together with beads, string, and a loose vision of what we wanted. There was laughter, a little bit of trial and error, and the kind of teamwork that only happens when everyone is working toward the same vision with their own special touch.

Beading is one of those mindful activities that slows you down. There’s a rhythm to threading each bead, a patience that draws you out of your head and into the moment. Doing it together made it even sweeter. They aren’t perfect in a polished, factory-finished way, but that’s the beauty of them. They’re infused with our energy, our laughter, our creative fingerprints. They feel like a secret little reminder of how much heart we pour into every detail at Pinky & Kamal.

These little touches we try to add to our shoots and scatter around out HQ become more than just accessories or desk props; they’re symbols of what makes our team special. They remind us that creativity doesn’t have to be grand or complicated, they remind us that teamwork isn’t always about big meetings or strategies..it’s about showing up for each other in the small, playful ways.

That’s the heart of it all, really, the joy of creating together. In a world that often asks us to rush, these little projects pull us back to slowness, to connection, to the simple happiness of making something by hand.
