Introducing Nat: The founder of Pinky & Kamal, is so extremely passionate and in love with design and clothing. It is what makes her heart sing. There is nothing more fulfilling than seeing her designs come to life, from the original concept, through to the sampling, production and then onto you. When you share your PK pieces you are sharing something that is created out of love, inspiration and thoughtful deisgn. Each Pinky & Kamal creation is deeply considered, designed to transcend age and physique. Every piece is intended to take on a unique and sacred form, as it stretches and moulds to the contours of your body – celebrating you, just as you are, in all your divinity.

We work with 3 organisations through the creation of our threads. Seamless Knitwear - Guangdong, Dongguan, China Introducing you to Aried: Aried is our first point of contact with the factory and is our go to gal for all things manufacturing. She is an amazing human who helps us bring our creations to life. We love our relationship with Aried! She helps us with suggestions and ideas on how to create and improve our garments with fit, fabrication and design. She understands we have high sustainability values and finds ways to help us keep the garments as planet friendly as possible. We are lucky to work alongside her! More Details: The factory currently employs 22 males and 27 females full time which includes pattern makers, sample makers, quality control staff and production staff. The Factory abides with all working conditions and processes that qualify them for being approved for the certifications below. Cut and Sew Items - Bali, Indonesia For the last 3 years, we have been creating your threads in the magical land of Bali, Indonesia. We have loved our experience with Bali. Introducing you to Yuke: Yuke is our incredible production manager. She is an entrepreneur, with her own business helping to organise and manage brands and their production. She is not only a great friend but a vital player in allowing PK to run. Introducing Ismal: Meet Ismail, Himself and his team cut, sew and quality check the fabric to create the comfortable threads that you will live in. Introducing Bayu: Meet Bayu, he has a dye house in Denpasar Indonesia, where he specialises in Tie dye and pattern printing. Him and his team create all their creations via a hand tie dyed method, one which they have mastered. Bayu is a lovely man and we are so glad to be doing business with him. Everyone we work with chooses their own pricing and we do not negotiate on this price. We have a trusting and loyal relationship with them and are grateful for their services.
THE MATERIALS
Pinky & Kamal believes from its core that if we are involved in the fashion industry, we MUST create with fabrics that are planet friendly. The main player in most of our pieces is Organic Cotton, moving onto Bamboo and then to recycled nylon fabrics. We ensure that all these fabrics have a certification to back up that they are good fro you and good fro the planet. Read in more detail below of the fabrics and the certifications they withhold.
FABRIC CERTIFICATIONS
OKEO TEX STANDARD 100
If a clothing item has received an OEKO-TEX ® STANDARD 100 certification, it means that every single component of the item (including any lining, zipper, and button) has been tested for harmful substances. As a consumer, you can be confident that a product carrying the STANDARD 100 label is harmless to human health.
GOTS (GLOBAL ORGANIC COTTON STANDARD) CERTIFICATIN
With GOTS-certified organic cotton, hazardous pesticides are banned, ensuring safer conditions for growers. The farming process uses less energy and water, and produces up to 94% less greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, factories are regularly inspected and must meet strict social criteria (e.g. ethical treatment of workers, no forced or child labour). Finally, the clothing items cannot contain any allergenic, carcinogenic, or toxic chemical residues – so you can be confident in the quality and safety of the garments!
SENSIL® ECOCARE RECYCLED YARNS
Sensil® EcoCare is made using pre-consumer waste. Pre-consumer waste are the materials that are discarded from the constructing and making of a product before it has been sent to market. By choosing to use SENSIL EcoCare Recycled Yarns, the CO2, energy and water consump[tion is significantly reduced to that of non recycled yarns.

This standard is used to illustrate the abilities of the factory to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. The methods and processes involved allow the factory to appropriately document, plan and review the structure, responsabilites, and procedures required to achieve a quality management systems in the factory.
AMFORI BSCI CERTIFICATION
The BSCI audit is a vital step in creating a reliable, consistent and ethical workplace and supply chain. BSCI stands for Business Social Compliance Initiative and is the process of evaluating the factories social compliance in a global supply chain. The certification assesses the working conditions and processes of the factory and whether it complies with the principles of the BSCI code of conduct.
INTERTEK WRKPLACE CONDITIONS ASSESSMENT (WCA)
Intertek’s Workplace Conditions Assessment (WCA) program provides a powerful, web-based solution for companies and facilities seeking to improve workplace conditions efficiently and in accordance with widely accepted industry standards and best practices. Is a program that provides solutions for factories seeking to improve their workplace conditions to widely accepted industry standards and best practices.
WCA will assess and address the following and more:
• Labor (Child/Forced Labor, Discrimination, Discipline, Harassment/Abuse, Freedom of Association, Labor Contracts)
• Wages and Hours (Wages and Benefits; Working Hours) Health and Safety (General Work Facility, Emergency Preparedness, Occupational Injury, Machine Safety, Safety Hazards, Chemical and Hazardous Material, Dormitory and Canteen)
• Management Systems (Documentation and Records, Worker Feedback and Participation, Audits and Corrective Action Process)

As our small business evolves, we reflect on how we can better our commitment to giving back and positive impact. Eden Reforestation Projects Partnership – 2021 As of 2021, we have entered a new partnership with Eden Reforestation Projects, a non-profit organisation which fights deforestation and extreme poverty by employing people who live in impoverished communities to plant trees. Practically, by hiring local people in impoverished regions to grow, plant and guard trees that are native to the area, this model delivers a range of positive socio- economic and environmental benefits to local communities. Through contributing to reforestation efforts, we intend to honour and acknowledge the fact that Pinky & Kamal would not exist without the earth’s resources. IMPACT: Every online Pinky & Kamal sale = two trees being planted.
